A somber little bass guitar solo piece with some synths and drums added. Kinda grunge, kinda glitch.
The initial "demo" version was recorded 28 November 2019. My original note for the track, which appeared on SoundCloud:
Someday I'll have a desktop computer dedicated to messing around with music and all of the proper interfaces and decent monitors and whatnot, but right now it's bits and pieces that sort of talk to each other, wired six ways to Tuesday in a hotel room and played through a cheap Blackstar portable 6W bass amp.
Both the demo and the more finalized "Bitcrusher Mix" version were recorded in a hotel room with a cheap Baltimore bass through a Zoom H4N Pro digital audio recorder being used as an audio interface into Studio One 4 (Artist) in early 2020. The latter is closer to what I really wanted, though I'd still like to experiment with this and try remixing it once I level up a bit.
Much later, I acquired an Ibanez SRF505H semi-hollow body fretless bass, so I had to test this piece on that, of course. And again when I acquired the cheap but powerful Donner White Tape delay pedal. Some brief excerpts included for fun.
Dec 2024: I have added another mix just for fun, done during my free time while I was in class at Blackbird and had access to their lovely plugin collections. I have compressed the heck out of everything and added ridiculous amounts of reverb.
